Asparagus growers in top-producing Oceana County fear for their crops

Asparagus growers in Oceana County are collectively anxious, even dismal, about this season’s unusual weather pattern.

It could cost local farmers millions of pounds of asparagus and produce an estimated $2 million in financial loss.

The extremely warm weather is pushing up asparagus stems in some parts of the state already – a devastating reality for asparagus farmers who don’t have their laborers here yet to pick it. MLive.com
