FDA sends preventive controls rule for Federal Register publication

In compliance with a court deadline, the FDA has submitted the final preventive controls rules for the Food Safety Modernization Act to the Federal Register for publication.

Although the rules have been submitted, no details have yet been released. FDA said that documents submitted to the Federal Register are allowed to be published several days after they are submitted. Larger documents can take longer to process and display.

Check the FSMA website for updates. FDA will post the final rules there when they are available in the Federal Register. We will be following this story closely and will be updating with analysis and comments from industry leaders as details of the rules emerge.
