Hearings scheduled for proposed ag practices rules in Vermont

The Vermont Department of Agriculture has scheduled public hearings for a final draft of proposed Required Agricultural Practices rules.

Public hearings on the proposed rules begin June 21 in St. Albans. Hearings are scheduled in Brandon, South Royalton, Manchester Center, Newport and Brattleboro through June 29.

Here’s more from WAMC:

Last June, the legislature passed the Vermont Clean Water Act, requiring voluntary water quality practices become mandatory and more stringent. The Agency of Agriculture filed its final draft on May 16.

Written comments may be submitted until July 7.
