Michigan Farmers Market Association conducting sales survey

The Michigan Farmers Market Association (MIFMA) recently received a Specialty Crop Block Grant that will allow the association to promote, market and raise awareness of the produce farmers markets offer in Michigan. The grant focuses on reaching consumers and sharing important information about farmers markets in Michigan and the produce that is available through specialty crop production.

To measure success, MIFMA is conducting a farmer and vendor survey to establish a baseline in sales and document an increase in sales at the end of the project. The survey will gather information about how much, in dollars, vendors sold in specialty crops at Michigan farmers markets.

MIFMA’s project is being funded by a USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant through the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, grant number 791N7700189.

The information will not be shared publicly and when reports are generated will only be available in aggregate form. The survey asks questions regarding annual sales. Individual sales information will not be shared and the opportunity to report anonymously is available.
