Researchers discover spray that could be alternative to genetically engineered food

Figuring out how a plant hormone helps crops weather cold and drought was one of the top scientific breakthroughs last year, considering its potential to boost agricultural production.

Now, those same Van Andel Institute researchers have discovered a way to activate the hormone with a biodegradable spray that not only could ease global food shortages but maybe keep your grass greener in the summer, too.
