Wiskerke Onions unveils pre-peeled onions

Netherlands-based Wiskerke Onions introduced the “Naked Onion” at Fruit Logistica. The “Naked Onion” is peeled right after it is harvested.

Thanks to its special packaging, the Naked Onion stays fresh for weeks and only has to be washed before use, according to the company.

“This will give end users no reason to cry,” said Chayenne Wiskerke from Wiskerke Onions at Fruit Logistica. The “Naked Onion,” geared towards both private customers and large-scale consumers like restaurants, was presented at this year’s trade show for the first time.

Already available in Dutch supermarkets, the Naked Onion is also coming to shelves in France and Great Britain with more countries planned to follow.
