Michigan’s Mike Pirrone Produce names new president

Carpac, Michigan-based Mike Pirrone Produce has promoted an employee to be the new company’s new president.

The company distributes and ships Michigan hothouse rhubarb and other fresh vegetables. The staff changes won’t affect its regular business process, CEO Donna DeBlouw said in a written statement.

Chief Operations Officer Matthew DeBlouw has been promoted to president. He has a degree in food industry management from Michigan State University.

“He will oversee the implementation of a new vision for Pirrone’s future, focused on quality, customer service, dependability and transparency, while still handling farm operations,”  Donna DeBlouw said.

Henry DeBlouw IV resigned as president effective July 8, 2019, to seek other opportunities to advance his personal career. Donna DeBlouw said the company wishes him well.

Also, industry veteran Joe Pirrone – a former owner of the company – has been hired back to mentor the company’s growing sales team.

“His background in the produce business will definitely be an asset to Mike Pirrone Produce,” Donna DeBlouw said.
