Agro Culture to build new facility
Agro Culture LIQUID Fertilizers, a manufacturer and distributor of liquid fertilizer products, will break ground on a new corporate headquarters in St. Johns, Mich., this spring. A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for April 11, next to the current headquarters at 3055 West M-21 in St. Johns.
“In 1999, we laid out an ambitious plan to grow 20 percent every year for 20 years,” said Troy Bancroft, Agro-Liquid CEO. “Due to our dedicated employees and excellent management, I am proud that we have not only met but also exceeded these goals. However, the one thing we are now lacking is the physical space to accommodate the growth we have had. We made the decision to invest in our manufacturing facilities initially, but corporate staff has grown significantly in the last three to five years.”
In order to meet this growth, Agro Liquid embarked upon a process last November to find the right construction and design team for the task. The challenge, according to Nick Bancroft, vice president of operations, was to hire a team that could design and build a facility that would aesthetically merge the great traditions of farming with the cutting-edge technology that now pervades the agriculture industry, according to Agro Liquid.
According to Nick Bancroft, the winning design aptly captured the essence of the ag industry’s evolution from the traditional family farm to today’s modern, sophisticated farmer.
The facility will include more than 50,000 square feet of space, with ample offices for owners and employees. Additionally, the facility will have meeting rooms, a training center, an employee kitchen, an R&D area and a fitness room, according to the company.
A completion date of summer 2013 is planned, to align with Agro Liquid’s 30th anniversary, according to the company.
