Free California seminars promote international trade

Three seminars to encourage companies to participate in the international marketplace are planned in California.

On average, more than 24 percent of California’s agriculture production is exported worldwide. 2010 was a record export year with approximately $14.7 billion in fruits, vegetables and commodities arriving in foreign markets.

Focusing on local, state and federal programs designed to assist small businesses in exporting products abroad, the seminars are in San Diego on May 22, Fresno May 23 and Napa May 24. Participants will be able to ask questions and learn more about the network of programs and services available to provide assistance.

The programs are sponsored by the California Department of Food and Agriculture, in cooperation with the Western United States Agricultural Trade Association and the California Centers for International Trade Development.
