Naturipe berry fans raise $20K for veterans

Naturipe’s Growing Gratitude campaign this summer resulted in a $20,000 check to the Gary Sinise Foundation.

From Memorial Day through Independence Day, the berry brand pledged to donate $1 for every photo fans shared on social media featuring a package of Naturipe berries and including the hashtags #growinggratitude and #naturipe, according to a release from the company.

Naturipe Farms CEO and President Dwight Ferguson, MBG Marketing President and CEO Larry Ensfield and MBG’s CFO Brad Moorer presented the $20,000 check to Khristina Cook, Corporate Relations Manager at the Gary Sinise Foundation on October 18, 2019 at the PMA Fresh Summit Convention and Expo. The Gary Sinise Foundation was established under the philanthropic direction of actor Gary Sinise, an advocate for armed forces veterans.

Naturipe said it launched the Growing Gratitude campaign to honor the multiple generations of Naturipe growers who served in uniform.

“We greatly respect the work and sacrifice of our active military and veterans, and we wanted to create a program to formally recognize them,” Ensfield said in a released statement.
