New England distributor honored for commitment to local ag

The Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources recently honored Sid Wainer & Son, a distributor of specialty produce and food in New England, for dedication and commitment to supporting local Massachusetts agriculture.

Massachusetts Agriculture Commissioner John Lebeaux presented the Wainer family with a recognition of its long-standing history of effectively growing relationships with the local farming community, according to a release from the company.

Sid Wainer & Son has had a dedicated focus on sustainability and local farming continuously throughout the 104-year history of the company. With more than 100 local farming partners, more than 40,000 customers and more than 1 million pounds of product purchased from local farms annually, Sid Wainer & Son exemplifies the importance of sustainable local agriculture and the vital role it plays in supporting the local economy.
