Produce Nerd website launched for produce industry

The Produce Nerd, a new online social marketing tool, has been launched to introduce the general public to the produce industry. The Produce Nerd provides information on where produce came from and the work that goes into bringing a piece of produce to the grocery display.theproducenerd

The goal is to demonstrate current practices, innovative ideas and useful tools that will help others to enjoy and consume more produce, according to a press release.

The Produce Nerd serves as a tool to connect farmers with consumers, according to creator Megan Haug Crivelli, a produce industry professional, with a background in postharvest and food safety.
