Scholarships available from North American Strawberry Growers Association

The North American Strawberry Growers Association (NASGA) has developed a scholarship program for both new and young members as well as young researcher/extension personnel.

The goal of this scholarship is to respond to the generational change amongst the membership as well as entrance of new growers.

“We believe NASGA’s greatest assets are the summer tour and winter meeting and the friendly and open networking that takes place during these events,” a news release stated. “The idea is to get people to see the value of membership by experiencing it.”

NASGA also wants to promote strawberries and the dynamics of the industry to young scientists to encourage them to continue or consider research and Extension in strawberries.

About the scholarships

The new or young grower scholarship will waive the registration fees for NASGA annual meetings and summer tours for a given number of growers. It is expected that applicants would be NASGA members.

The young or new researcher/extension scholarship would provide money for travel (up to $1000) and waive registration fees at NASGA events.

NASGA will award up to five winners for each scholarship category.
