McWhirt serves as the state fruit and vegetable production Extension specialist. She conducts Extension outreach and research for commercial fruit and vegetable producers to improve the efficiency and productivity of these cropping systems in the Southeast. She works extensively with strawberry and blackberry producers and serves on several national grower association boards.
