Accomplishments

Samtani has been working in strawberry research and outreach for over 10 years. His focus has been on evaluating alternatives to preplant methyl bromide fumigation, particularly looking at steam, soil solarization, biosolarization and anaerobic soil disinfestation strategies to assist both conventional and organic berry growers. Additionally, his Extension program has influenced grower adoption of berry cultivars. Samtani also works with nurseries and chemical companies to evaluate products valuable to berry production systems.
