Labor availability and rising workforce costs continue to shape specialty crop production, and Vegetable Growers News is inviting growers to share their experiences in the 2026 Ag Labor Survey.

The annual survey gathers feedback from fruit and vegetable growers across the U.S. on workforce availability, labor costs, use of the H-2A program and the strategies farms are using to adapt to ongoing labor challenges.

Results from VGN’s 2025 Labor Survey Report showed that many growers were able to secure the workers they needed — an improvement from the previous year — but labor costs and regulatory requirements remained major concerns. Nearly half of respondents reported using the H-2A program to fill workforce gaps.

The survey also highlighted how labor continues to influence farm decisions, from production planning to investments in mechanization and efficiency.

Vegetable Growers News is asking growers to participate in the 2026 survey to help provide an updated look at labor conditions across the industry. Responses will help guide editorial coverage and provide valuable insight into the workforce challenges facing specialty crop farms today.

Take a moment to complete our survey and ensure your voice is part of the conversation. You can complete the 2026 Vegetable Growers News Labor Survey through May 22, 2026. All qualified respondents who complete the survey will be entered to win a $50 gift card.
