Certified crop advisers, pest control advisers offered Syngenta training

WHAT: Continuing education enables certified crop advisers, consultants and pest control advisers (PCAs) to maintain certifications and remain up to date on issues affecting crops today. Syngenta currently offers free learning modules that provide continuing education credits.

  • The Act NOW learning module guides California PCAs through controlling the primary pest threat in tree nuts: navel orangeworm (NOW). Approved by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation, the Act NOW module outlines agronomic issues surrounding NOW in tree nuts, and techniques for strong integrated pest management. Registered California PCAs who take this module receive one hour of continuing education credits.
  • The California Grape Disease learning module guides PCAs through common California grape diseases, powdery mildew and Botrytis, in addition to providing control recommendations. Registered California PCAs who complete the course will receive one hour of California Department of Pesticide Regulation continuing education credits.
  • Learn more about the power of Miravis Prime fungicide and its benefits for strawberries, potatoes, cucurbits and fruiting vegetables with the Miravis Prime learning module. Offering more spectrum and stamina, Miravis Prime delivers a more powerful option for disease control across a wide variety of crops. Upon successful completion of this module, certified crop advisers receive 0.5 continuing education credits.
  • Certified crop advisers can strengthen their knowledge of insect threats and earn CEU credits for completing the Insect IQ Quiz. Insect pressure can lead to devastating infestations and losses season after season, CCAs learn to identify and manage key pests in vegetables, citrus, potatoes and tree nuts.

WHO: Certified Crop Advisers and Pest Control Advisers

WHERE: The Miravis Prime and Insect IQ learning modules are applicable to CCAs across the United States, while the Act NOW and California Grape Disease modules are directly applicable to California PCAs.
