Free webinar on CEA production offered by VGN sister publication

“Managing Temperature, Humidity and Light for Greenhouse Vegetables” will be the topic of a free one-hour webinar scheduled to take place Oct. 27, at 2 p.m. EDT.

Presented by GPN, Vegetable Growers News’ sister publication, the webinar will be led by Neil Mattson, associate professor and greenhouse Extension specialist at Cornell University and director of Cornell’s Controlled Environment Agriculture group.

During the webinar, Mattson will cover common control strategies for heating, cooling, dehumidifying, and lighting and the pros and cons of simple thermostat control to integrated control systems.

Uniformity within the greenhouse environment is the grower’s best friend in terms of keeping crop schedules on track and avoiding labor intensive management. Unfortunately growers often encounter variability in the growing environment.

Mattson will provide tips to reduce environmental variability within the greenhouse to improve crop performance and reduce disease pressure.
