Miller Chemical & Fertilizer adds Van Arkel to sales team

Miller Chemical & Fertilizer, international manufacturer and distributor of non-hazardous crop protection products, foliar nutrients and adjuvants, has added Bob Van Arkel to its domestic sales team for the Michigan region. He will work with agricultural professionals, retailers and distributors in Michigan and surrounding regions.

Van Arkel, a Michigan native, has over 30 years of experience in the chemical business providing solutions in the fruit, vegetable, potato and specialty crop markets. Roles and responsibilities throughout his career have included direct-to-farm sales and consulting, technical service support, product management, technical marketing, key account management and territory sales management. Van Arkel has held certification since 1995 from the American Society of Agronomy as a Certified Crop Advisor in the state of Michigan.

Van Arkel holds a bachelor of science degree from Michigan State University (MSU) in horticulture with a pest management specialization and a master of science degree, also from MSU, in Nematology working on the root knot nematode and its impact on muck grown vegetables.

Van Arkel is a past president of the Southwest Michigan Professional Fieldman’s Association and the Michigan Agri-Business Association. He is also a past-president of the MSU College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Van Arkel resides with his wife Sarah in Grand Ledge, Michigan, where they raised their four children.
