The Fertilizer Institute awards biostimulant certification to Valent BioSciences

TFI has awarded Valent BioSciences its third Certified Biostimulant certification for its Transit 500 biostimulant.

The certification is part of TFI’s new program designed to ensure biostimulants meet rigorous standards for efficacy, safety, and composition, according to a news release.

Transit 500, a liquid biostimulant, is recognized for its ability to enhance plant tolerance to abiotic stress, improve fertilizer efficiency, and boost nutrient uptake, thus supporting better root and shoot growth. The certification provides a distinctive label for Transit 500, signifying adherence to the U.S. Biostimulant Industry Guidelines, according to the release.

Corey Rosenbusch, TFI’s president and CEO, highlighted the importance of the certification.

“Biostimulant products have been shown to promote nutrient uptake, stress tolerance, and overall plant health and vigor,” Rosenbusch said in the release. “The Certified Biostimulant Program was established to provide a standard for these products and ensure growers and retailers will be able to confidently select the right solutions to fit their programs.”

The Certified Biostimulant Program provides a standard for assessing products, and customers can be confident their biostimulant choices have been well researched and held to the highest industry standards, Rosenbusch said in the release.

“We are excited to be one of the first certifications awarded under the Certified Biostimulant Program and look forward to seeing how this program will enhance the recognition and understanding of biostimulants throughout the industry.” Maria Herrero, senior director of regulatory affairs at Valent BioSciences, said in the release.
