40 Under Forty Awards nominations now open

Vegetable Growers News is proud to announce that nominations are officially open for the seventh annual Fruit + Vegetable 40 Under Forty Awards — a celebration of the industry’s brightest young professionals. Nominations will be accepted through June 6.

Each year, this prestigious program honors 40 outstanding men and women under the age of 40 who are pushing the industry forward. These individuals represent a diverse cross-section of the supply chain, from growers and marketers to researchers, extension agents and beyond.

Award recipients will be featured in the December issue of Vegetable Growers News and recognized at a special reception during the Great Lakes Fruit, Vegetable & Farm Market EXPO in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Whether you’re nominating a colleague or putting your own name forward, this is a unique opportunity to shine a spotlight on the passion, innovation and leadership driving the industry’s future.

Nominee criteria:

• Must be under 40 years old (as of June 10, 2025)
• Currently employed within the fruit and vegetable industry
• Demonstrates leadership qualities
• Strives to propel the industry forward through involvement and innovation

• Farm marketers
• Shipper/packers
• Extension Agents
• Researchers
• Crop consultants/advisors
• Manufacturers/suppliers processors
• Trade show managers
• Association leaders
• Government agency professionals

Please note that previously nominated individuals who were not selected are welcome to be nominated again this year.
