Annual Santa Maria Strawberry Field Day set for May 9

The University of California Cooperative Extension’s Strawberry and Vegetable Crops Advisor, Surendra Dara is hosting the annual Santa Maria Strawberry Field Day, Wednesday May 9, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The meeting is located at the Manzanita Berry Farms, 1891 W Main St. Santa Maria. Topics are updates on regulatory issues, pest, disease, weed, and nutrient management, potential of beneficial microbes and biostimulants, sprayer calibration, tabletop and field strawberry production, mechanical strawberry transplanter, and using drones for monitoring crop health.

3.0 DPR and 4.0 CCA CE units have been requested.

The meeting, including lunch, is free.
