Climate and drought workshop scheduled in California

The University of California Cooperative Extension in partnership with the National Drought Mitigation Center, the USDA California Climate Hub, and the National Integrated Drought Information System is hosting the CA Rangeland Climate & Drought Workshops, Weather, Grass and Drought: Planning for Uncertainty, Wednesday, Feb 6, from 5 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.

The meeting is located at Solvang Veterans’ Memorial Hall – Legion Wing, 1745 Mission Drive, Solvang.

Topics include: overview of the U.S. Drought Monitor and drought designations; overview of available drought programs and assistance (public and private); review of weather forecasting tools and discussion on their reliability when making long-range decisions at the ranch level, and forage changes during droughts.
