New Jersey vegetable group hosts convention

The Vegetable Growers Association of New Jersey (VGANJ), in cooperation with the New Jersey Department of Agriculture (NJDA) and Rutgers Cooperative Extension, is presenting its the annual New Jersey Agricultural Convention & Trade Show in February.

The show is Feb. 6-8 at Harrah’s in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Vegetable Growers Association of New JerseyThis event will cover the latest technologies, agricultural practices and opportunities throughout the industry, and will feature awards, a charity auction and exhibitors.

“We put the garden in Garden State,” Joel Viereck, president of the Vegetable Growers Association of New Jersey, said in a news release. “From habaneros to hemp and summer spinach to sweet corn, this three-day event helps Garden State farmers grow better and more sustainable food, flowers and other agricultural products.”

The convention’s workshops, training, and educational sessions will address a variety of topics, such as the economics of running a vineyard, high-tech scarecrows for cornfields and farmer health and safety. On the exhibit floor, showgoers can explore cutting-edge tools and systems, from farm vehicles and equipment to seeds and packaging, insurance, green solutions and so much more.   • VGANJ will also present its 2024 Vegetable Growers of the Year award to Angelo and Leonard Grasso Farms of Mullica Hill. The NJDA will also present an award and scholarship during this dinner.

Attendees can register by purchasing a VGANJ membership or a one-day pass online or in-person. Press passes are available.

The Vegetable Growers Association of New Jersey serves to promote and grow the vegetable industry in the State of New Jersey while supporting the fruit and flower industries.
