AcMoody Farms named Red Gold Master Grower, Tomato Grower of the Year

Red Gold Inc., of Elwood, Indiana, presented Brian and Vern AcMoody of Union City, Michigan, a plaque naming them the winner of the E.A. Reichart Quality Achievement Award to honor them as the Tomato Grower of the Year.

AcMoody Farms was chosen from a select group of seven master growers, picked from 43 growers for Red Gold Inc. This is Brian and Vern AcMoody’s second time winning the E.A. Reichart Quality Achievement Award as well as receiving their eighth Red Gold Master Grower Award. Winners received specially designed plaques in recognition of their achievement in growing high quality tomatoes, exhibiting industry leadership, and professionalism. All growers for Red Gold have had training on good production practices, employee safety, and human resources.

As a tomato grower for Red Gold, AcMoody Farms have excelled in stewardship and sustainable practices on their farm and participate in the Red Gold IPM program.  his year’s production from AcMoody Farms would account for over 30 million cans of Red Gold whole, diced, stewed, and specialty tomato products.  Red Gold is the largest privately owned tomato processor in the country and specializes in premium quality tomato products for markets in all 50 continental states and over 55 foreign countries.

The award was presented during Red Gold’s 29th Annual Growers Banquet in Indianapolis, Indianapolis.

Presenting the award to Brian and Vern AcMoody was the Reichart family, Selita Reichart, Senior Vice President, Beau Reichart, Chief Operations Officer, and Colt Reichart, Director of Marketing, Omni-Channel & Consumer Relations. The banquet is held in conjunction with the Indiana Raw Products Conference, sponsored by Purdue University.
