Lipman promotes new Florida fresh-cut facility

Lipman Family Farms has opened a new fresh-cut operation in Immokalee, Florida.

Lipman planned to showcase the facility to produce industry people at its booth during the March 7-9 Southeast Produce Council’s Southern Exposure trade show and conference in Tampa, Florida.

With the opening of its seventh fresh-cut facility in North America, Lipman’s investments in value-added offerings continue to evolve and expand for the grower/packer/shipper, according to a news release.

Lipman logo“We enjoy exhibiting in Florida, where our roots run deep,” Elyse Lipman, Lipman’s CEO, said in the release. “SEPC is a well attended show, which allows us to showcase that we are now fully vertically integrated in Florida and have full control of our supply chain, including our fresh cut line, which provides cost efficient solutions to retail and foodservice decision makers.”

The extensive range of product offerings includes an assortment of pico de gallo blends, fajita blend, and custom diced and sliced tomatoes, peppers, and onions in various pack types for retail and deli. Lipman’s club pack features sliced tomatoes and onions with the convenience of ready-to-serve trays.

Building on the anticipation, Lipman recently announced its acquisition of Northeast Produce. A tomato repacker in Connecticut, this facility contributes to servicing customers across an expanded geographical area.

Beginning in the 1930s, the family-owned Lipman has become one of the nation’s largest integrated networks of growers, fresh-cut processors and distributors of fresh produce. The company works in research and development, field and greenhouse growing, procuring, packing, repacking, fresh-cut processing, distributing, food safety, and culinary development.
