Orondis Gold soil fungicide approved for use in Florida

Syngenta Crop Protection’s pre-mix formulation of Orondis Gold soil fungicide has been approved for use in the state of Florida. This formulation replaces the current co-pack formulation of Orondis Gold.

The registration covers a number of crops grown in Florida, however, the optimal fit in Florida would be on pepper for control of Phytophthora capsici.

Orondis Gold is also registered for cucurbit and fruiting vegetables, leafy greens, potato and other tuberous and corm vegetables.

Soil applications of Orondis Gold preclude the later foliar use of other Orondis containing fungicides such as Orondis Opti or Orondis Ultra. In crops where both soil and foliar applications are registered, growers will need to prioritize their disease risks and decide where the optimal fit is for Orondis.

In most crops in Florida, that will be for foliar disease control.
