Procure Registered for Vegetables

EPA has granted federal registration to Chemtura Crop Protection’s Procure 480SC fungicide for use on 28 additional fruit and vegetable crops. The registration gives growers a powerful new tool for controlling powdery mildew and black spot on crops in the brassica leafy greens, brassica head and stem, leafy greens, tropicals and hops subgroups. State registration in California is pending.

Procure is a broad-spectrum foliar fungicide and has been previously approved for a variety of other fruit and vegetable crops including apples, pears, cherries and melons. It has proven to provide outstanding control of common fungal diseases including powdery mildew, scab, leaf spot and black spot.

“Controlling powdery mildew is a challenge that most fruit and vegetable growers face year in and year out,” said Jim Black, marketing manager, Chemtura Crop Protection. “Growers who have come to rely on Procure know it is a highly effective tool and natural fit as a rotational or tank-mix partner for mildew control problems. Chemtura is pleased to offer this fungicide to even more growers to help them continue to provide quality vegetables to consumers.”

Procure may be applied by air or ground. Application rates and pre-harvest intervals vary depending on the crop being treated. For more information, Click here.
