Aug 15, 2024PVGA issues urgent pest warning for Pennsylvania growers
Pennsylvania Vegetable Growers Association (PVGA) has issued an urgent pest warning; there has been an increase in corn earworm over the last week in Pennsylvania.
In an email from Glen Bupp, Leah Fronk and Heather Grab at PVGA, the organization shared that Butler, Lehigh and Lancaster counties are on a three to four day spray schedule.
Also, Blair, Bucks, Centre and Washington counties are on a 4-5 day schedule. The remaining counties are on a 5-6 day or greater spray schedule.
“Fall armyworm counts increased slightly from last week,” the email stated. “By managing for corn earworm, fall armyworm should be adequately controlled as well.”
