Webinar offers tips for U-picks, on-farm produce sales

The University of Minnesota Extension is offering a webinar on May 20 titled “Practical Strategies for U-Picks and On-Farm Produce Sales for COVID-19.”

This webinar will discuss science-based management strategies to reduce risks associated with COVID-19 for Pick-Your-Own (PYO) Farms and on-farm produce sales in Minnesota. The webinar will summarize what is known about the virus and how to reduce the spread on U-Pick and on-farm sale operations.

We will highlight the UMN Extension COVID-19 template for fruit and vegetable farms as well as MDA-developed guidelines to assist participants in creating a COVID-19 plan for their U-pick and on-farm produce sales this season.

Speakers:

  • Annalisa Hultberg, Extension educator, food safety
  • Annie Klodd, Extension educator, fruit and vegetable production
  • Natalie Hoidal, Extension educator, fruit and vegetable production
