Cal Poly sets annual Strawberry Center Field Day

More than 300 strawberry growers, researchers and industry representatives are expected to attend the Cal Poly Strawberry Center Field Day.

The July 28 event features researchers and students from Cal Poly and the University of California-Davis talking about the latest research at the center, from new automation technology to predatory mites and soil borne pathogens.

Check in begins at 7:30 a.m., at the San Luis Obispo campus, and educational sessions will run through 12:30 p.m., when lunch is served.

Cal Poly and the California Strawberry Commission established the center in 2014. It focuses on applied research that incorporates teaching and learning experiences for undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and California strawberry farmers.  More than 30 applied research projects are in progress at any given time at the research center.
