Great Lakes Greenhouses boosts cucumber production with LED Lighting

Great Lakes Greenhouses, a North American hydroponic cucumber grower, has enhanced production through the use of Philips GreenPower LED toplighting and the GrowWise Control System (GWCS).

The advanced lighting systems, provided by Signify, allow for precise energy management using custom light recipes, boosting both crop quality and efficiency. The Philips GreenPower LED toplighting fixtures, paired with the dimmable GWCS, offer Great Lakes Greenhouses improved control over lighting intensity and energy use.

“The toplighting compact offers excellent efficiency and control, leading to consistent and quality production,” said Mark Reimer, research and business development manager for Great Lakes Greenhouses.

The GrowWise system integrates seamlessly with greenhouse climate controls, enhancing operational efficiency.

“Even in a power outage, the system ensures no disruption to crop cycles,” said Chris Tawil, IT manager for Great Lakes Greenhouses.

Signify’s Philips Horticulture team continues to support Great Lakes Greenhouses by addressing both lighting and general horticultural challenges, fostering a strong partnership.

“We’re proud to be part of their success,” said Ries Neuteboom, commercial leader of Philips Horticulture North America.
