TOMRA Food introduces advanced sorting tech at Fruit Attraction 2024

TOMRA Food introduced its its advanced LUCAi AI solution and introducing a new regional structure with its headquarters in Valencia at the 25th edition of Fruit Attraction.

The company’s latest AI technology aims to improve sorting efficiency across the fruit and vegetable sector.

“The vegetable industry requires fast and reliable sorting systems, and LUCAi offers unprecedented accuracy,” said David del Castillo, regional sales director for Southern Europe. The LUCAi system uses deep learning to analyze complex image patterns, improving sorting accuracy for crops such as carrots and peppers.

TOMRA also highlighted its TOMRA 5A sorting machine, which processes large volumes of vegetables like potatoes, ensuring food safety and removing defects with high precision. The company’s Valencia headquarters will provide localized support for vegetable growers, streamlining technical assistance and offering tailored solutions.

“Our new regional structure allows us to respond more efficiently to the needs of vegetable growers, helping them improve quality and reduce waste,” added del Castillo. TOMRA is also focused on sustainability and resilience as the industry faces growing pressures from climate change.
