Dairy Doo event to demonstrate composting techniques

Morgan Composting in Sears, MI will host an educational event Saturday, August 3.

Two tracks will be offered – one for homeowners and one for those involved in small or large farms.

This event is a chance to learn how-to’s, get questions answered, and hear from experts on topics ranging from organic and safe lawn care to best compost spreading practices.

DAIRY DOO Demonstration Day will be held 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Morgan Composting, 4353 US 10 in Sears, just East of Evart.

Lunch, live music, and tours will be part of the event. Tickets are $20 per person in advance or $25 at the door and can be purchased at dairydoo.com or by calling 231-734-2451. Registration starts at 8:15 a.m.

Morgan Composting is a family business that was started in 1996, by Brad Morgan and his father Dale. The Morgan’s began composting as a solution to a manure problem on their 200-head dairy operation.
