Techwave launches an end-to-end hunger relief program

IT and engineering solutions company Techwave has launched “Feed the Need,” an end-to-end hunger relief program that aims to tackle hunger in local communities.

Techwave volunteers kicked off the campaign, contributing eight pallets, (1,600 bags, 8,000 pounds, 6,667 meals) and 90.17 hours to the local communities (equivalent to 5,410 meals).

To combat hunger and provide food to families in need, Techwave joined forces with America’s Grow-a-Row, a hunger-relief organization, in its Seed to Table Initiative. Under this program, the associates participate in all aspects of the food chain, including sowing seeds, harvesting crops and shipping and distributing food to local families in need. A full range of expenses, including seed, time for managing the crop, packaging and transportation, is covered by Techwave.

“Our mission is to feed the need and provide fresh, healthy produce to children and families; and America’s Grow a Row Seed to Table Program Initiative is the ideal way to accomplish the goal,” Gummadapa said.

“From farm to table, we cover the entire distribution process,” he said. “Every step of the process, from planting to harvesting to packaging and sending a refrigerator trailer to Feeding America, Houston, is carried out by our associates. We believe we will be able to be a helping hand by producing change and reducing famine and food insecurity with this effort.”
