Haygrove Winners Announced

The Great American Giveaway winners have just been announced: Jaime Steffen of Steffens Cherry Orchard in Fort Atkinson, Wis., won a free Super Solo high tunnel from Haygrove Tunnels, while Jon Ariel of Ariels Farm in Gansevoort, N.Y., won a free tour of Haygrove’s facilities and other farms in England.

The Great American Giveaway was organized by Haygrove and Great American Publishing (GAP), publisher of Fruit Growers News and Vegetable Growers News.

“Great American Publishing is pleased to give away a Haygrove tunnel for one grower and a trip to England for another to see operations using the technology,” said Matt McCallum, GAP’s owner. “We know that this technology is helping to revolutionize the fruit and vegetable industry and hope that this giveaway will encourage more growers to consider looking into this technology.”

Steffens plans to use his free high tunnel to grow u-pick blueberries. Ariel wants to learn more about growing brambles in tunnels. He’ll see brambles and other crops under tunnels during Haygrove’s British tour in September, said Ralph Cramer, Haygrove’s manager for the eastern United States.

Steffens and Ariel were both pleasantly surprised by their wins, Cramer said.
