“We are thrilled to have Sarah on board. She will bring knowledge and influence to our health programs and campaigns sharing health and nutrition facts with consumers,” said Board President Brent Leggett.

N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Marketing Specialist Heather Barnes commented, “As we started looking at who influences consumer eating habits, Registered Dietitians quickly rose to the top of the list. The NCSPC realized if we were going to work with RDs we needed someone with those credentials. Working with Schlichter will ensure the materials NCSPC develops will be accurate and meet the needs of RDs and add to the credibility of our health and nutrition messaging.”

The North Carolina SweetPotato commission has focused 2020 as a year of connecting to  consumers regarding health and versatility of sweetpotatoes. Be on the lookout for a new tool kit for Registered Dietitians to be released in the fall.
