It also operates a tart cherry processing facility and a fresh packing asparagus line. DeRuiter is director of the Michigan Farm Bureau board of directors, chairman of the Michigan Cherry Committee, and member of the Cherry Marketing board of directors. He is married to Amanda and has one son named Landen.
