Director of Research

Whitwood is involved in all aspects of breeding, from inbred development and selection to hybrid creation and evaluation of new products. He has been instrumental in bringing numerous sweet corn, melon and pumpkin products to market. He also manages extensive variety trials in New York for over a dozen leading seed breeders/suppliers. Whitwood is very busy throughout the growing season in New York, and still finds time to be a part-time mechanic for International tractors, as well as a husband and father to two wonderful little girls.
