Focus on Florida Strawberries

The 9th North American Strawberry Symposium and the 2019 American Strawberry Growers Association Annual Meeting were held Feb. 3-6 in Orlando, Florida. Attendees from more than 20 countries took part in three days of education sessions, followed by a day-long farm tour. Stops included the University of Florida/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences Gulf Coast Research and Education Center in Balm, Florida; G&D Farms, a Wish Farms operation in Duette, Florida, where the CROO Robotics Harvester was showcased; and Fancy Farms in Springhead, Florida, operated by Florida strawberry legend Carl Grooms and his son, Dustin.
