Farm Labor Inspections Reveal Dent in Progress

Prompted by the heat-related death of a 17-year-old fieldworker near Stockton, state agents last week made a series of spot inspections in the orchards and fields of San Joaquin County. What they found were depressing indications that some of the progress made in farm labor regulation has eroded over the past several decades. The Monterey County Herald
