Huntley to keynote Illinois Specialty Crops conference

The 2018 Illinois Specialty Crops, Agritourism, and Organic Conference and Trade Show will be Jan. 10-12, 2018, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Convention Center, Springfield, Illinois.

Simon Huntley, former Vegetable Growers News farm market columnist, is the speaker for the 2018 Specialty Crops, Agritourism and Organics Conference.

Formerly a farmer himself, Huntley is from Small Farm Central, a farm technology tool service out of Pennsylvania.

Specifically, his business develops software tools for farms, farmer markets, fisheries and other farm-related businesses, such as website development, Community Supported Agriculture membership list cultivation and loyalty programs. Since it started in 2006, the service has had more than 1,000 ag clients.

Huntley will kick off the conference on Thursday, Jan. 11, and talk about ways farmers can better connect with customers and ensure there are avenues to continue to cultivate them and grow business,
