The California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) will host three public hearings in July to review the proposed statewide notification system for restricted material pesticide applications.
The hearings are designed to give the public advance information about pesticide applications.
The hearings are scheduled for:
- Friday, July 12, in Stanislaus County, tentatively in Turlock
- Monday, July 15, held virtually on Zoom
- Tuesday, July 23, in Kern County, tentatively in Wasco
All hearings will take place from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Spanish interpretation will be available at each session.
DPR seeks public participation and feedback on the proposed regulation.
“Our goal is to protect human health and the environment by ensuring transparency and safety in pesticide use,” a DPR email on the event stated.
