Mid-Atlantic Commercial Vegetable Production Recommendations ready

This year, the Mid-Atlantic Commercial Vegetable Production Recomendations’ publication was transitioned into a biannual publication and therefore will only be updated in its entirety every other year.

In “off” years, critical updates will be provided in a supplementary factsheet and disseminated in newsletters and posted online. The tables provide information to help manage for pesticide resistance and even more specific recommendations are provided for select diseases such as cucurbit downy mildew or Phytophthora blight.

New this year, individual crop groups and other informational sections can be downloaded  and printed individually for those only interested in certain crops such as tomatoes or pumpkins.

The Mid-Atlantic Commercial Vegetable Production Recommendations is a joint effort between Penn State, Rutgers, University of Maryland, University of Delaware, Virginia Tech and West Virginia University that provides growers with the most up-to-date information for managing weeds, insects and diseases in addition to information about cultivar selection and crop production. These recommendations are based on multistate research results and extension programs as well as the knowledge and experience of growers, county extension educators, and industry personnel. The crop groups range from asparagus to watermelons and everything in between.
