Biotech company opens North American headquarters

PlantResponse recently opened an office for its North American headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The office will house PlantResponse’s commercial leadership team as well as supply chain, product management and sales teams in what the company called the “Research Triangle,” according to a news release.

“Raleigh is well-known as a global hub for agricultural innovation technology, making this the perfect epicenter for our North American operations,” said Tom Snipes, chief executive officer of PlantResponse.

PlantResponse is in its third year of field trial work in the U.S. and is targeting for growth and new product development in North America over the next several years, Snipes said.

“This location will help us focus in on areas of concern to North American growers in our research and field work,” Snipes says. “We’ll be working on adapting our proprietary solutions for management of plant disease, stress and drought conditions for this market.”

The company works to commercialize innovative products and bring new research to growers.

Snipes, a 25-year veteran of the agriculture industry, was named CEO in March, according to the company website. He came to PlantResponse from the Pinnacle Agricultural Organizaion, an Apollo Global Management holding, where he was Eastern United States Business Unit director. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina.
