AeroFarms wins Controlled Environment Agriculture Brand Excellence Award

AeroFarms, a certified B Corporation and leader in indoor vertical farming, announced May 6 that it is the recipient of the 2021 CEA Brand Excellence Award.

The award recognizes AeroFarms’ leadership in the Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) industry across North America, honoring the CEA brand “that has recently dominated on store shelves.”

Currently sold in the Northeast through Whole Foods Market, ShopRite, FreshDirect, Amazon Fresh, and Baldor Specialty Foods, AeroFarms retail brand of leafy greens is grown using proprietary aeroponics and indoor vertical farming technologies, which yield annual productivity up to 390 times greater than traditional field farming, while using up to 95% less water and zero pesticides.

The winners of the 2021 CEA Awards were selected by a prestigious, independent awards committee comprised of agriculture professionals from Artemis, Cargill, Fluence by OSRAM, and Schneider Electric. The committee received over 130 qualified nominations for the awards and selected 11 category winners.

“Our Company is committed to utilizing our proprietary technology to maximize quality and I am so proud of the recognition of our brand and the support from consumers who can see and taste the difference of our branded AeroFarms leafy greens,” David Rosenberg, co-founder and chief executive officer of AeroFarms, said in a news release.

“Our greens consistently win on quality, texture, and flavor, and our customers connect with our brand because of our authentic and transparent approach to sustainable farming. We are honored to win the 2021 CEA Brand Excellence Award and look forward to expanding our customer reach and retail footprint with our grocery and e-commerce partners as we scale our operations further.”
