Georgia association offers webcast on employment law, COVID

The Georgia Fruit & Vegetable Growers Association is making a webcast on employment law and COVID-19 available to the industry.

The webcast was originally broadcast on Sept. 20 and features attorneys Marty Heller and Josh Viau of Fisher & Phillips discussing the current state of employment law and COVID-19. The event is now available available for on demand viewing.

The discussion includes a recap of the ag labor environment, a forecast of what may be coming and questions from the audience.

Specific topics are:

  • The Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s new guidance that removes many safeguards previously required by employers;
  • The Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s reaction to the CDC guidelines and what to expect from OSHA moving forward;
  • An update on OSHA’s heat hazard and how it affects agricultural employers; and
  • New Equal Employment Opportunity Commission guidance and trends from the EEOC affecting your workplace.

This is the final installment in the Ag Insights series provided by Fisher Phillips for the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association and provided the audience a chance to ask questions to the Fisher Phillips team about the topics covered over the past year.
