Idaho Potato Conference provides industry updates

University of Idaho Extension will present the 56th Annual Idaho Potato Conference & Trade Show Jan. 17-18, in the Pond Student Union Building on the campus of Idaho State University, Pocatello.

The conference covers a wide range of educational and informative sessions as well as relevant industry updates. Pesticide applicator license credits for Idaho, Washington and Oregon are expected to be available for qualifying sessions. Engage with the 70 Trade Show vendor booths that fill the ballroom in the Pond Student Union Building, with displays highlighting agricultural products and services.

Idaho-Potato-Conference-2024Highlights for this year’s conference include:

  • Free hot potato snacks provided by Lamb Weston
  • Free baked potato bar featuring Teton Russet potatoes
  • Pesticide credits for qualifying conference sessions

Included with the conference are the popular Spanish language sessions, where seminars and workshops are presented in Spanish both days and include a wide variety of topics such as the identification of new pests, postharvest physiology and potato variety updates. Pesticide credits for Idaho, Oregon and Washington will be offered for eligible sessions.

In addition, the 45th Annual Eastern Idaho Ag Expo will be nearby at the Idaho State University Holt Arena, Jan. 16-18. Check out the latest in farm equipment, products and services presented by 95 vendors. The Idaho Ag Expo is a great place to learn about new products and updates to existing products in the ever-changing industry of agriculture.

There will be free parking at the Holt Arena with shuttles providing transportation between the Ag Expo and the Idaho Potato Conference.

The annual Idaho Seed Potato Seminar will be Jan. 16 at the Red Lion Hotel in Pocatello. This informative session is presented by the Idaho Crop Improvement Association (ICIA).  Pre-registration is available by calling Ruby Hall, administrative assistant at the ICIA, at 208-522-9198 or emailing [email protected], On-site registration will be available at the venue.
