Seedway acquires vegetable seed assets of Champion Seed

Effective Oct. 1, Seedway, LLC has acquired the vegetable seed business assets of Champion Seed Co. Since 1959, Champion Seed has become a trusted commercial vegetable seed provider to growers throughout Mexico, West Coast, Pacific Northwest, South Central and Southeast United States. Concluding the acquisition on Oct. 1, Champion Seed will operate and market vegetable seed products under the Seedway Brand.

Seedway expects no changes to the Champion Seed Co. sales, field and clerical staff. In addition, Seedway will maintain Champion Seed locations in McAllen, Texas, Uvalde, Texas, Coachella, California, Bakersfield, California, Tifton, Georgia, Nampa, Idaho and Celaya, Mexico. Champion Seed and Seedway will maintain all offices/warehouses in listed locations as well as salesmen in established areas.

Headquartered in Hall, New York, Seedway operates nine locations in five states from Vermont to Florida. A full-line seed company, marketing farm and turf seed in 14 Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states and vegetable seed from the U.S. Rocky Mountains to the east coast and the southern provinces of Canada, Seedway is a subsidiary of Growmark, Inc., Bloomington, Illinois.
