Summit focuses on climate change solutions

SVG Ventures|THRIVE will showcase innovative start-ups and their plans to address climate change at the Global Impact Summit.

The summit is the culmination of a six-month search through more than 500 applicants from 70 countries; finalists will pitch their ideas at the Global Impact Summit at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, California.

“I’m thrilled to welcome global entrepreneurs, innovators and corporations who are taking needed action to combat climate change to San José,” San José Mayor Sam Liccardo said in a news release. “After collaborating with global leaders at COP27, I look forward to continuing our joint efforts to scale innovative climate solutions at THRIVE’s Global Impact Summit.”

Liccardo will officially open the summit on Nov. 17.

An audience of more than 500 agrifood and technology leaders, global startups and industry players. THRIVE corporate partners from Land O’Lakes, BASF, Bayer, Corteva, ICL, Kubota, Driscoll Berries, Taylor Farms and others are also expected to attend, along with representatives from Canada, Australia, Europe, Latin America and other regions are.

The summit themes are aligned with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals and key themes of COP27, and will focus on disruptive innovation and transformational solutions that have the potential for global impact.
